East Asia

Our partnership city has a population of one million people and is surrounded by a desert. Our team is strategically placed in the middle of three of the top universities in the province. The nature of the land runs parallel to the state of our students’ hearts. They are dry and hungry to know the truth of Jesus Christ. Communism and beliefs in Islam and Buddhism have left students searching for something to fill the emptiness in their souls. Last year we saw nearly 40% of students we shared with indicate decisions to follow Christ! Students are open and, yes, there are many students who can speak enough English for you to share with them. However, because of security concerns in East Asia, it is important to build a relationship with students before sharing with them.

This year we were encouraged as three men and five East Asian women accepted a challenge to lead a small group and multiply their lives. Every week we have a small Bible fellowship, where students are getting their first tastes of the joy to be had as part of the body of Christ. Each week we are humbled to see that this is what God has brought us here to be a part of! We have big vision for what God wants to do here, so please come and invest a week, a summer, or a year, in building God’s Kingdom in East Asia!
